About SSH
The Social Services Hospital is a pioneering humanitarian medical institution founded in 1951. It was the first specialized center in the city of Tripoli dedicated to the care of the elderly and persons with disabilities. Over more than seven decades, the hospital has evolved from a social care home into an integrated institution providing long-term medical, nursing, rehabilitative, psychological, and diagnostic services.
Today, the hospital occupies a central position within the healthcare and social protection system in North Lebanon, as an institution that combines humanitarian mission with specialized medical services, responding to the needs of the most vulnerable groups, particularly the elderly, patients with chronic diseases, persons with disabilities, and individuals with psychological and neurological disorders.
In collaboration with the Ministry of Public Health, SSH established a Hospital for Chronic Diseases, enhancing its capacity to manage long-term health conditions.
Launched a Physiotherapy and Rehabilitation Center, reflecting a commitment to comprehensive, functional recovery for patients.
With support from the Kingdom of the Netherlands and the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC), SSH inaugurated a Workshop for Artificial Body Parts, aiding individuals in regaining mobility and independence.
Introduced Al Rida Suite and the Rest House Suite, offering dignified residential healthcare services for elderly people.
Established a Medical Clinic for both inpatient and outpatient services, as well as a Dentistry Clinic, broadening its scope of medical care.
Marked a significant expansion with the addition of multiple specialized centers and departments.
Today, the hospital hosts over 300 residents, including the elderly, persons with disabilities, and patients with chronic illnesses, receiving comprehensive, multidisciplinary care that upholds human dignity and promotes health and well-being.
